Alrex® (loteprednol etabonate ophthalmic suspension 0.2%)

Contraindications
As with other ophthalmic corticosteroids, Alrex is contraindicated in most viral diseases of the corneas and conjunctiva and in mycobacterial and fungal diseases of the eye. Prolonged use of corticosteroids may result in secondary glaucoma, cataract formation, and secondary ocular infections following suppression of the host response and/or perforation of the globe. The most common adverse events in patients treated with Alrex were abnormal vision/blurring, burning, chemosis, discharge, and dry eyes.

Patient Assistance Program
The Patient Assistance Program is designed to assist physicians and other healthcare professionals that care for patients who are financially disadvantaged and have no source of prescription drug coverage through private insurance or from public assistance (i.e.: Medicaid, Medicare or charitable organizations). In order to be considered under this assistance program the patient must have an annual household income of less than $19,600 for one person or a combined family income of no more than $26,400.
